Moving to a much smaller apartment.

The hard part: culling my possessions.
. . . These were items I’d lugged around for years never able to part with.

I set my sights on living in New York City for just a year.
. . . After that I planned to move into a normal-sized apartment in the burbs.

Yet something happened inside those 90 square feet.
. . . My life got better. And bigger. And fuller.
. . . Did I really want to give that up for more closet space?
. . . With my overhead lower (no pun intended), I now had more time.
I was still working hard, but on my own schedule, and the stress was less.

I might have been living with less, but I had gained so much more.
. . . All because I had figured out my “why.”

For such a minuscule space, it left an enormous impression.

***Ed-I modified the title because X is short for ecstasy; an illegal drug and readers may get the wrong
impression about the subject. Hope you don't mind.

The issue (at least for me) is we often buy non-essential things one at a time; furniture, bedding-whatever
and we don't notice how quickly it piles up.
At least not until we decide to donate or sell off the overstock.
Then it's boxes and boxes filled to the brim we have to either load up in the car to donate somewhere or
have a yard sale; ton's of hassles.
But it's always good to trim down, eliminate and share.
