Wow, Northern AND Angel Soft??   Back to the old corn cob!  I don't like the Kochs or their ilk, ALEC and deniers.  However, the Tea Party is not bad.  Of their ten principles, only 8 and 10 need more work.

Those that are in the Tea Party, and are deniers, should get it, if they have the sense and intelligence.
Just like anyone else.

I was aware that the Koch's try to influence public policy today via their Tea Party, by lobbying and supporting "think tanks" like "Americans for Prosperity" (see http://en.wikipedia....iki/Koch_family ).  I wasn't aware that the Koch's also try to influence what is taught in the classroom at public universities See (from 2007) http://www.publicint...ue-reading-link

It IS NOT "their" Tea Party!   Read the link on it above.
Here is another rich guy trying to influence things negatively, with denialism of overpopulation's root causal effects;

Let's keep it on topic. Rant about overpopulation on the overpopulation thread.

An interesting article on the Koch brothers and their business empire at Rolling Stone, here:  http://www.rollingst...4?page=6  Seems that they've justified evasion of business regulations of all kinds, not just environmental protection regulations, as a form of civil disobedience, standing up for the freedom to get rich.    Should run into a new word (for me anyway) "contango."  Look up that and you run into "backwardation."  New to me, but then I'm pretty uneducated in economics.

Thanks for the link.

From the article; koch businesses generate more than
24 million metric tons of gases-each year! :angry:

And-
"Thanks to the Bush administration's anti-regulatory agenda –
which Koch Industries helped craft –
Frac-Chem's chemical cocktails, injected deep under the nation's aquifers,
are almost entirely exempt from the Safe Drinking Water Act." :vava:

No offense against octopus-but the koch's are overwhelming everything.........

Think of all the things they could do to improve life on Earth.................
but instead, the koch's donate their money to campaigns to hurt the Earth.

Please don't buy these products and if you can; sign the pledge.
(A great deal of their funding goes to climate denial and republican candidates. If you're a republican, fine-
but at this site; we not only believe climate change is real, we KNOW it.)

"Koch said it was “ludicrous” that he had too much power because there is no such thing in his mind,
and to achieve his goal the Kochs are willing to spend nearly a billion dollars to achieve the level of power he demands."

A new report shows that the koch brothers hindered efforts before, during and after Katrina.
There is nothing or no one that will stand in their way of making money; and they don't care how many people die
in the process.
I can't say what I think of them so I'll just type-&^%$%$@&^%$!!!!!

       While the Kochs are guilty, note that they aren't the only guilty ones.  Quoting: "Koch Pipeline Company and other major oil companies were"  and the "Americans for Prosperity" lobby group has other supporters besides the Kochs.

True; but they have the most money to throw around to block efforts to slow or stop it's use.

6 myths, on energy, in the South:

1. Energy efficiency and renewable energy by themselves cannot meet the South's growing electricity demand;

2. The South does not have sufficient renewable energy resources to meet a Federal Renewable Energy Standard;

3. Renewable energy cannot be promoted without escalating electricity rates;

4. Energy efficiency and renewable energy policies are not compatible;

5. Cost-effective energy efficiency and renewable energy policies are sufficient to retire existing coal plants and reduce air pollution;

6. Power resource decisions have little impact on water resources.
