Oh … My … Gosh ……………………………….............................................

I just read this, and have not yet fully processed the horror of it.
I cannot yet speak intelligently -- or civilly -- about this.

“Walmart is set to sell a new form of genetically-engineered (GE) sweet corn as early as this summer. Monsanto’s Bt sweet corn contains three GE traits that have never before been consumed directly by humans, and have not been subjected to thorough safety testing. There will be no labeling whatsoever indicating that the corn is a genetically modified organism.”

Petitions are here:

Some European countries are fighting against the evil empire of monsanto (and Asian rice farmers) but here in the US,
we seem to be plowing ahead.
I wonder if wm will have the skull and crossbones logo on their coolers?

Check out the GMO thread / monsanto-evil empire thread when you get a chance.

Thanks for the update.
The more exposure to this the better.

Somehow I don’t see WM making it known to their customers -- I think they’re too close to Monsanto to double-cross such an important bedfellow by notifying the public about it.

ShortPoet, I would love to read the thread you’ve described but I’m having trouble locating it. Would you mind providing me with the link, please?

Thanks a bunch!!!

Walmart defends what they do by using buzzwords like "food security" blah blah.
I've read that 1 in every 4 food dollars is spent at Walmart.
They can get away with doing this because they build big stores small communities and hire people for crap wages, forcing their employees to buy their cheap GMO food with food stamp dollars and people in those communities won't complain because they need those crap jobs and that crap food.
Walmart's whole strategy is built on exploiting poverty with a lot of support from the people they exploit.
