China’S Investment In Renewable Energy

Over the past 5 years,
. . . 40% of all newly added renewable energy power was generated by China,
. . . while the country’s investment in clean and renewable energy,
. . . exceeded the combined total invested by Europe and the U.S.

China is also investing heavily in the development of renewable energies.
. . . Last year alone, the country invested $90 billion, more than any other country. China is developing its solar power industry at a staggering speed, and
. . . has built a large number of solar farms in the Gobi Desert.
The country has become the world’s largest wind power producer,
. . . deploying thousands of turbines in western China,
. . . with plans to increase the number by more than 100% over the next 5 years. China is also the world’s largest hydropower producer,
. . . with its hydropower dams accounting for 1/2 of the world’s total.
. . . The number continues to increase.

But, to reduce emissions, it’s not enough,
. . . to reduce fossil fuel production, it’s not enough,
. . . It is also necessary to change the consumer consumption habits.
