The World Today... As How I See It.

I wonder what our big chances are on putting things in place, to bring order and peace to the world, to save human lives and the planet earth. For an endless clean, green and fruitful living, knowing what the problem is, discovering the root cause of the problem, finding solution to the problem, and working on the solution to solve this problem is a big challenge for us, a goal to keep and meet. I am thinking that, hopefully, we can collect our thoughts and see what we’ll derive from everybody’s belief, knowledge and involvement. I wish that we can all contribute for a shift towards a better and honest living where both humans and the environment would benefit. We could make use of facts that each of us can input so we can see what our big chances are for bringing and meeting that significant change that we hope for. Please add up to my knowledge.

According to science’s means of computation, the earth or world is said to be about 4.5+ billion years of age. Since then, so much had happened that we know nothing about up to when the first civilization existed. Humans, I must say, is not as old as the earth as before humans could survive, all the earth’s masses should come together first. However, if the age of the earth is 4.5+ billion years and in the Bible, God created everything for 6 days, the 7th day being the day of rest, then the earth is only 5 days older than humans and the age of humans and all the other creatures are 4.5+ billions years old. Then the world and its’ inhabitants live side by side since the beginning of time. From that time on up to now, we depend on earth’s resources to survive, and the earth turn to humans for it to remain as it is. I’m not sure about the latter though because it seemed that the earth will go on even without the humanities as the other planets do. But then, judging to why the other planets are dead and inhabitable, earth would be as lifeless not having life to sustain.

Given that God is good.
Given that the universe won’t shake and continuously hold the stars, meteors, asteroid, comets, planets, moon and sun in place.
Given that the sun won’t burst or not a single beam would break to cause the world’s destruction.
Given that the gravity won’t get lose so we all are still able to stand firm in the surface of the earth and the core and the universe would still hold the earth together.
Given that we won’t be invaded by aliens as plants, animals and humans (not counting the spirits) are actually the only living species in the entire universe.
Given that predictions and scientific computations are the only basis on when the earth will possibly vanish due to phenomenon that we cannot take account for as we have no control of. So we are safe to co-exist with the world as long as the end of life is uncertain. But then, the science of our mind and behavior holds the power to keep our world a safe, beautiful and great place to live in; and our faith that the world will stood still and destructive phenomenon won’t annihilate us one after the other (phenomenon at its worst today brought about by Global Warming) before we could find the answers and solutions to growing indifference to our flora and fauna. Due to the products of our technology that are now permanent fixtures in the world (modernization, industrialization), our daily consumption brought about by these technologies (in mass production), capitalization/power/business/politics (money/trade that is now a passes, the substantial means in acquiring almost everything, that halts the system of what’s permissible to the environment , that made the world go round), that we use and consume and return to the world, we have this phenomenon that change the phase of the weather surfacing unprecedented calamities and disasters; we have an unsafe air to breathe, unsafe water to drink and bathe; we have people that get sick and go hungry; we have resources that go wasted; we have shortages;  we have inhabitable places; we follow or go with the flow rather than lead our own life; we fight for good life, for what we don’t have and for what we want to have;  we don’t recognize others’ needs, other presence besides our self; we lack perception and discipline; we only wanted all the good that the present life could offer ; that it’s enough for us to survive, we fight for survival; we forget about the world that we live in, the world where we owe our continuing existence; we forget to live in harmony with our self, our people, our world and our Creator.

Over the past 2000 years, the world population has grown tremendously. In year 1 our populace started at 200 million. This year, 2011, our population has grown about 6.8 billion more.  Imagine how much the world is taking under its care. And imagine how much of this population takes care of the world (deduct the children below the age of understanding, the bedbound due to sickness, those impoverish). Imagine how many rulers, leaders, business heads support, manage and reign over this populace; convert the part of the earth for industrialization (e.g.  walkways, highways, seaport, business and government sectors such as business towers and plants, supermarkets, recreation areas (theme parks, stadium), super malls); for every family’s lodging (village, subdivision, vacation place (resort), inns, hotels, motels, townhouses, apartments, condominiums); and for garbage (sanitary landfills). To support the world population, to pave way to means of industrial and economic growth, for attainment and access to trade, for community, for transportation, little by little the natural resources is being replaced, trees being cut, hills/valleys/grounds being flattened/cemented. I wonder how we gather everything that we utilize from our natural resources and yet, when we return it to the earth, it was in the form of damaging materials and chemicals. Obviously, there are flaws in our technology. And obviously, when power and money speaks, the needs and demands of our natural resources are being bypassed. New discoveries (e.g. plastics) and natural resources (e.g. oil) are being promoted that in the long run is being used in spite the harmful effect it have on the environment.  Other discoveries such as vehicles are completed for the usage and the wealth they (the capitalist/businessman) could gain from the natural resources (e.g. oil). Certain important things are forgotten; one, to draw limitation on what we take from our natural resources; two, to replace that which is taken; and three, that science and technology works to make life easy, to get rid of suffering (e.g. find medication for the sick, end scarcity), and not to create means to destroy the living and the earth.
