Vermont’s Green Mountain Power,
. . . offers an Off-Grid package, where with a combination of rooftop solar and storage,
. . . customers become energy independent from the utility company.
Creating a microgrid:
. . . . . . lowers prices for customers by reducing maintenance costs, and
. . . . . . softening the demand for peak power.

Suncommon Solar, a Low-Income Solar Array,
. . . is part of an initiative to make solar accessible to people with low-to moderate-income.
. . . Half of this solar array is reserved for Green Mountain Power customers,
. . . who are at, or below, 200% of the federal poverty level.
These customers paid:
. . . no money down,
. . . did not need credit to apply, and
. . . received a 7% discount on their energy bills,
. . . for being subscribed to the array.
