"Calving" is a good word for cattle having babies (although cattle contribute a large
amount of emissions that cause  climate change) but animal babies are always
welcome as far as that goes.
But ice "calving" is not a good term.

It means that millions of years of built up ice are becoming so warm that they
are breaking off.
Warmer temperatures allow water to infiltrate ice sheets (stadiums as I like to call them)
and make them susceptible to breakage/reduction.
(Have you ever put warm water in a glass filled with ice cubes? They break down
quickly) There ya go.

And with our "new" deniers in chief in the white house #trump (and the vast majority of his
cabinet picks) it is only getting worse.
Rather than dealing with the issue and promoting renewables such as solar and wind energy; trump
is promoting coal; lying to the miners. Telling them he will get them jobs.
His idea of "jobs" for those poor struggling folks is to allow coal sewage dumped into
our streams and rivers.

The only "jobs" trump can guarantee right now are for the morticians and undertakers.
Solar is cheaper than coal no matter what trump or his lying minions tell anyone.
It is outpacing all other renewables.
People with brains (which obviously trump has none; doesn't know anyone with them) know
that solar is the answer.
But it's only 25% of the solution for climate change.

China is stepping up to the plate and installing a boatload of solar.
trump is in la la land or should I say commie putin land?
Disaster is the least of it.
