Senate Bill 584 (SB 584),
. . . would require all California electricity providers,
. . . to supply power generated 100% from renewable resources,
. . . like wind, and solar, by 2045, has been introduced by
. . . Senate President Kevin de Leon.

Currently, electricity providers are required to achieve,
. . . 33% renewable standard by 2020, and
. . . 50% renewable standard by 2030.

Getting to 100% renewables,
. . . is facilitated, by dramatic cost reductions,
. . . in the cost of wind, and solar,
. . . which are now the lowest-cost options,
. . . for new electricity supply in California.

In 2016, California added nearly
. . . 25,000 new jobs in solar energy alone,
. . . while nationwide,
. . . one, out of every 50, new jobs was in the solar industry.
