Micro fibers in clothing are released in the washing process; going into water systems.
But the fibers are so tiny that water treatment plants can't/don't clean them out and
they end up in our oceans.

Clothing made from synthetic fibers — rayon, acrylic, polyester, spandex and olefin, for example — contains toxic chemicals that pose serious risks to your health.
