France’s ailing nuclear Areva, expensive European Pressurised Reactor (EPR),
. . . being built in Finland, is almost:
. . . . . . 10 years behind schedule,
. . . . . . 3 times over budget
,
. . . also, 2 reactors in China, and
. . . one in Flamanville, France, are running late.

France’s 58 reactors are elderly, (maintenance is going much higher)
. . . the 2011 Fukushima disaster in Japan, and
. . . the plummeting price of renewables,
. . . a new law, is set to come into force this summer,
. . . pledging to cut France’s dependence on nuclear power from,
. . . 75% to 50% of its electricity needs by 2025
,
. . . all have made nuclear power less appealing.
