Engineers know that developing an entirely new system,
. . . for operating the grid won't be simple.
. . . They call for plug-and-play distributed energy,
. . . but you need a distributed architecture for that.

England's Community powered Solar Farm, generates 7% interest,
. . . row upon row of high tech solar panels spreading out over 23 acres,
. . . quietly harvesting the sunlight on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Willersey.
. . . If you didn't know it was there, you would miss it.
Willersey farm, with its poor soil, unsuitable for growing crops, was the perfect site.

As far as conventional utility suppliers are concerned,
. . . It’s one thing for Peak demand to disappear, in the middle of the day,
. . . thanks to Solar.

It’s something else entirely,
. . . if that disappearance extends into the evening, and overnight,
. . . thanks to storage.

Because, Now a large chunk of,
. . . utility suppliers revenues would have disappeared, as well,
. . . thanks to Solar + Storage.

SolarCity comes to N.H.
. . . last year they installed solar panels on 100,000 homes.

In Massachusetts, SolarCity’s business is helped by generous state incentives,
. . . which in the Granite State are more modest,
but, the 2 states share at least one thing,
. . . expensive electricity.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced more than
. . . $53 million for 40 research and development (R&D) projects,
. . . that aim to drive down the cost of solar energy.

The awards build upon the DOE's previous investments,
. . . made under its SunShot Initiative, a collaborative effort,
. . . to make solar fully cost-competitive with traditional energy sources,
. . . by the end of the decade.
