When disaster strikes, What's needed?:
. . . . . . Water,
. . . . . . Food,
. . . . . . Blankets,
. . . . . . Shelter, you might be able to locate them, in daylight,
But the Sun doesn't always shine, and
. . . . . . Energy, quickly becomes just as fundamental a need.

The greatest environmental health threat in the world is,
. . . Respiratory illness due to burning of:
. . . . . . Wood,
. . . . . . Brush,
. . . . . . Dung, and other Fossil fuel.

Russell Sturm, head of the energy access advisory for the,
. . . World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC), said,
. . . Lighting Global's program, is to spread clean and safe lighting, to the
. . . 1.5 billion people in the world who live off the electric grid.

Rapidly falling prices, solar lighting and mobile cellphone charging, produced by,
. . . improved efficiency of 3 key technologies:
. . . . . . Solar photovoltaic cells,
. . . . . . Batteries, and
. . . . . . LEDs (light emitting diodes)
. . . have put renewable energy solutions within reach,
. . . to improve health and welfare for millions of people.
Improving the quality of disaster relief, and refugee life around the world,
. . . as never before, aid and development experts say.

What's needed? The National Guard rescued drivers in Kentucky.
"Lexington broke its single-storm total record with 17.1" of snowfall, up from 16.1" in 1917, according to the National Weather Service. The city also broke its all-time 24-hour snowfall record with 14.6" between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, up from 13.5" in 1943.

Interstate 65 became a parking lot Thursday morning as heavy snow stranded drivers, according to local reports. Some motorists said they were stuck on the freeway for at least 12 hours."

Weather in the NorthEast, was near the record total snow fall,
. . . some roof's collapsed under the weight of accumulated snow build up,
. . . some buildings burned down, from fire hazards,
but, it was mostly mild, light and fluffy snow,
. . . with very few Electric outages,
. . . like we have had in the past.

When you lose Electricity, that's when things go down hill fast.
. . . . . . No Lights,
. . . . . . No Heat,
. . . . . . No Water & Food starts to go bad,
. . . . . . No Coffee, Tea, Microwave, Toaster, Washers or Dryers,
. . . . . . Batteries die, (flashlights, cellphones, radios, vehicles, tools)
. . . . . . No TV, Internet, or computers,
. . . . . . Medical problems grow,
. . . Let that go on for a week or more, and your in trouble.

People were shocked, when their rooftop Solar stopped working,
. . . after the utility went down.
Only mobile solar systems worked.

The reason people get Solar in the North East, is:
. . . . . . Not Climate Change,
. . . . . . Not to charge their electric car,
. . . . . . Not because their neighbor has one,
. . . . . . Not Because It's affordable,
No, the Number #1 reason is, Hurricane Sandy, Ice Storms,
. . . or any other reason, that knocks out Electricity.

Oil prices may go up and down, disrupting the Economy over Time,
. . . but, loss of Electricity is,
. . . Instant, Distributed, Disrupting, Damage, (I3D),
. . . to our Economy, Communication, Transportation, Quality of Life, Health, Ability to cope, etc.
