Good for them! Start in the center and work outwards; like a stone tossed in a pond. Less emissions for local's
to breathe.

Wow! Car free city? I think that's not the best solution to stop pollution. There are natural resources to prevent pollution instead of having car-free city.. :-)

I don't understand your negative statement about this. Reducing emissions from cars (and trucks) lowers
air pollution. Better for our lungs and the planet.

It is part of the solution and obviously; not the only one.
Eliminating coal as a fuel, stopping clear cutting/burning of forests and reducing our beef consumption (so there
are fewer cows emitting green house gases) are also part of the solution.

Vehicle-related:
. . . . . . Traffic Jams,
. . . . . . Parking problems and
. . . . . . Exhaust emissions,
. . . are substantial, public city planning concerns.

All we need to do is to create solar powered vehicles and for me, that's the best solution. :-)
