This falls under the heading of what the ____?
Why would the koch's be against public transit? They own a boatload of oil/gas stocks, etc.
so they want us all driving in our cars; alone.

Try to restrain yourself from tearing your hair out :hysteric: as you read this article via
Wired via Inhabitat.

The opposition to the transit proposal is probably even more basic than the oil connection.  It's a proposal that most people would call "progressive."  So the Koch founded "Americans for Prosperity" will automatically be against it.  They seem to be against everything but tax cuts.   http://en.wikipedia...._for_Prosperity   http://www.sourcewat..._for_Prosperity

The basis of the objection appears to be over safety concerns:

Quote

Pressure and concerns over safety have even forced Nashville’s mayor Karl Dean to examine redesigning the bus rapid transit system without dedicated lanes

Quite how it compromises safety isn't explained in either the article.........or the link.

"NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Mayor Karl Dean today announced that he has directed the Amp project
team to examine redesigning the bus rapid transit system without dedicated lanes from Interstate
440 to White Bridge Road in response to community concerns...."

What the community concerns are is not spelled out.

Not directed at you but at the koch's- gafb.
How many car crashes annually-how many deaths? Talk about a lame excuse.
They just want to sell more emissions via gas and oil.

The anti bus numbnuts need to look at the low numbers on bus accidents/deaths-
