I viewed the new documentary style movie Pandora's Promise today.
Recommended.
Recommended anyway if you care about energy and environmental issues, if you care about climate change and the need to get away from burning fossil fuels.
You might or might not alter your overall position on nuclear powerplants after viewing the movie, but most everybody can learn something. Not a Hollywood production, will never be a box-office favorite, but should be viewed anyway.
It is one-sided, pro-nuclear power, or at least pro-some-nuclear power. It's critical of the way the commercial nuclear power industry has developed in the US, kind of making fun of the way that some investment decisions have been made. Also very critical of the way that the US DOE Integral Fast Reactor program was shut sown in 1te 1990's. The movie promotes the idea of developing the IFR into something useful, cites several advantages over today's nuclear powerplants, safety advantages.

David Robert's of Grist refers to the movie and shares his owned mixed view of nuclear power - better than fossil fuel but presently too expensive and failing to engender interest in environmental groups. Reminds me of me.
