Phew. I'm glad it's about cooking. I thought it was about michele bachmann leaving office.

Looks like it will save energy.

Yes it's about cooking,
. . . driving the price of energy down,
. . . reducing violence against women, and
. . . limiting noxious fumes.
Not bad, for a bag of cheap plastic packing material.

Wonderbag device is designed to reduce the amount of fuel required in the cooking of food in developing nations. Replace them for the duration of the period stove cooking, heating food instead of stove to correct temperature and then transferred to the Wonderbag, which uses the principle of thermal insulation to continue the cooking process without further application of heat. Wonderbag is estimated to save up to 30% of the total fuel cost of cooking with paraffin alone..

It sounds like something that could be really useful in developing countries. Sometimes even the simplest inventions can make the biggest impact.

Wonderbag has many benefits in Africa…
Saves 30% of annual household income - saving money and easing poverty
It reduces CO2 emissions
Less deforestation because families need less firewood to cook
It reduces toxic fumes which means less respiratory problems and other diseases, particularly in children
It reduces time spent cooking, giving more time for child-care and other activities
It saves precious water. When the pot is insulated in a Wonderbag at a fairly constant temperature,
. . . less evaporation occurs, so less water is needed
It saves food. 20% of all staple food in Africa is burned, due to pots being placed on open fires and
. . . unregulated stove tops. With Wonderbag, no burning occurs.
Less is more...
Less fossil fuels are consumed
Less CO2 is released into the atmosphere
Less cooking fumes are produced
Less potential for fires and injury
Less wood is cut and burned
Less precious water is used
Less food is wasted
Less time is spent cooking
