Australian Melbourne Water uses a desalination plant while the  five catchments supplying 28% of the City of Melbourne's drinking water are available for clearfell logging which inevitably reduces water quality. This unbelievable photo shows roading and logging in one of those catchments.

So they prohibit everyone else but let the logging company in to contaminate the water supply for a major city? That is unbelievable! :ohmy:

USA still allows mountaintop removal for coal, so we can't point fingers.

It should be a protected area and that sign should be strictly followed.
Yes, sad to know about the logging that had happened or still happening on such supposed to be water supply protection area.
