Go outside at sunset and watch it. Grab a glass of organic wine, a non-plastic
NOT made in China chair, chill out and watch the beauty of it.

Suppose to be the closest it's been in awhile so it should be big.

It was HUGE and it's also extremely bright.  Sometimes nature is just so cool.

What a wonderful moon view last night!

My work area is inside my bedroom, which as a panoramic window from where I can look out the sunset and the moon transit.

I would love to have had a camera at hand to show you off how my bedroom was illuminated by this moonlit.

Yes, it was amazing to see the moon like that.
I do not have great gadgets to take a good memorabilia of such view but at least it is great in my memory.

The moon was spectacularly bright 5/12, almost as bright as I type this.

In a couple of weeks there's a partial solar eclipse visible late in the day, an annular eclipse even if you are in the right place in the western US.

Use appropriate eye protection.  Regular sunglasses nowhere near enough.

To find out how much you might be able to see, try  http://eclipse.gsfc....ml#SE2012May20A

Explore the above NASA eclipse site, try the linked calculator.

Here in the San Francisco area it'll cover over 80% of the Sun at peak, definitely an event worth seeing.

Check with your local amateur astronomy group or local natural history museum, they will probably have some kind of public viewing organized.  At a local museum that I volunteer at we'll have a couple of telescopes set up.  Hoping for clear skies.

Gotta use appropriate eye protection.

Moon is still shining brightly and I can see it again from my window, but now declining in the horizon as dawn is approaching in bit more than an hour.

The upcoming solar eclipse sounds like another one of a kind event and I will make sure to get the proper eye protection by then.

Thanks for posting about :)

Two clear nights in a row here in Seattle are rare this time of year and we're going to have another tonight and the moon will still be spectacular. Last night in particular was amazing. The moon started out really red rising on the horizon. Then turned to bright orange, faded to gold and moved on to a blinding white. Wish I had a better camera.

Thanks for eclipse info still learning! May 20th here for a partial eclipse that should still be pretty cool to see. That link to the NASA site is great. I put in my location and got all the info.

Glad I saw it; it's been cloudy ever since.

I intentionally went out of our house just to see it! Lo and behold! The magical night sky with the mysterious big bright moon! :) I was amazed by its beauty however, at the back of my mind, the old tales about leprechauns and other supernaturals are playing!haahaha

I'm a little late, but throw away that organic wine!

It needs a lot more visits by the tractors and damages the soil where the wine grows, as well as causing more emissions.
Not all organic is good!

On a brighter note, it was a lovely moon :)
