The Japanese public has had enough, sure (71% opposition to restarting nuclear reactors last I checked), but that doesn't change that there's an economic reality to nuclear power that they can't leave.

Thanks for sharing this with us. Japan's wealth was built with nuclear energy and it's sad to see it end up this way. Although, this is also a good opportunity for them to innovate, and that is one of the things that they do best. Japan is very resilient and they are a credit to our world, in my opinion. I wish them all the best and my prayers go out to them.

I don't know if they can even get the solar in place fast enough to make any kind of difference, Their economy will absolutely suffer. People are afraid of the consequences. This will be a standoff. Even in China the people are rebelling against building a new copper alloy plant, because of the air pollution. They stopped the construction.

I guess that's one upside to consumerism. Wanting more leads to freedom. :huh:
