Wombats are the tank of the animal world. Digging holes and barging through fences. There was a mega-fauna version of this animal 46,000 years ago weighing at 2 tonnes. It would have been something to encounter one. .http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Diprotodon

I have not seen a single wombat in personal yet and it will be nice to see one someday. ;)
I had watched wombats in animal planet and/or discovery channel and they seems to be really kind or tame kind of animals. And seeing them on that video like home pets looks so cute.

People are mistaken to take wombats on as pets as they can get aggressive and cranky as they get older. I believe you are required to have a permit to keep native animals in Australia. Many get injured from motor vehicles and require rehabilitating before release.
I have only seen a couple in the wild and they are awkward and funny to watch lumbering along.
