Those of you who have read many of our postings in the past know that we are advocates of electric cars. Hybrids are a good start, plug in electrics are advancing with new mileage ranges and cost reductions on the horizon, battery exchange cars are being tested in Israel, Australia. and Japan and finally fuel cell cars are coming on the market in 2015. Electric cars all promise the ability to significantly reduce our addition to oil, reduce CO2 and air pollution, greatly reduce the cost of transportation and help our countries struggling economy.
We have driven many different manufactures EV, PEV, and FCV models and have been participating in review processes thru our company. The goal is to provide cost effective models that appeal to different consumer’s tastes and pocketbooks across a broad range of choices.
We like them all but our personal favorite has been and continues to be fuel cell cars. Now a new report from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory shows that almost all the goals established by the Department of Energy 2003 goals standards have been met. You can read an overview of those goals at the following link.
