We didn't have a mild winter this year, but we have in years past and it really hurts local economies. We're really close to the mountains - you can leave Seattle and literally be skiing down the slopes in an hour - and there are a lot of ski areas and resorts and small towns that rely on the winter income, like beach towns in the summer.
I still stand by my original stance - people don't really understand the science of climate change and literally look out their window and base what they believe on what they see and experience in their little corner of the world.

I do not think it will be good to have even a mild winter or snow here as our country had tropical climate.
That would mean the weather goes really wild already. LOL
There are instances that rainfall have some small pieces of solid ice on it and it was not good either as it could hurt or destroy some properties.
