Have you tried Hefty's renew garbage bags? I was not sure about trying them at first.  I was having a hard time finding garbage bags that actually fit our 13 gallon kitchen garbage can.  Many of the bags would slide down into the can when you threw things in the garbage (especially when my kids threw something out.)  I saw the Hefty renew garbage bags that are made from 65% recycled plastic and decided to try them.

Believe it or not, they are the best garbage bag we have used! They have not broke on us and they actually fit in the garbage can nicely.  Best part is that they are made with recycled plastic!

How much did they cost. Value is the main deciding factor for me with garbage bags. Would like to see a reasonable cleaner alternative to traditional plastic bags.

They were $3 and change (don't remember exact amount) at Walmart for a 20 pack.  We have a (I am guessing) odd garbage can because we have a heck of a time getting garbage bags that don't slide down.  My kids are young so they do not look at the bag to see if it is still in place, they just toss the garbage in! That is what I liked most about these, they actually stayed in place and my garbage can is not a mess.

Other garbage bags are so expensive and have not been working well for us.

I am not sure what type of garbage bags these are but if they are recycled that is a positive sign as its about time that we stop pulling oil from the ground only to make bags and stuff them back in a land fill. However, the composting bags of this sort are a different story because they will simply generate methane gas in the landfill in any case so there is no real benefit.

I haven't tried these yet because I am on a fixed budget and I try to recycle as much as I can. I like their commercials and am glad that they are made with eco-friendly materials. I will have to try them if I get my hands on a coupon.

It amazed me that they are the best ones I have ever used! I am not sure of any other brands and what they have.  I have tried so many garbage bags and we are a tough customer to please I think.  So far I found them the cheapest at Walmart.

That's not too bad. I just bought garbage bags this morning but not the ones that are recyclable. I have the rose scented trash bags. I think I'll switch over to Hefty once I run out of these bags because I never knew you could recycle trash bags. Just wondering, how much do they give you per recycled bag? I am talking about when you bring everything to the recycle center.

These bags are just made from recycled plastic, they are not otherwise different from the other bags.  They do come in a regular box like other garbage bags do.
I am not sure what plastic they use for them, they just state they are made from 65% recycled plastic.  I do not go to a recycle center as the recycling gets picked up right in front of my house all but hazardous recyclables such as batteries.
