Would mining the moon do something to the tides? Besides green cheese, what is the moon made of?
Regarding terraforming, there's not much point to changing Mars if we don't change the Earth first. Are they going to make Mars an exclusive planet for the aristocrats while the rest of us are left to suffer on the unlivable Earth?

Unless newt builds his rocket to the moon for his colony in Georgia, the point is moot now.

Humans are always trying to pollute everything they get their greedy little hands on. When this planet is all used up, leave to humans to go use up another. Someday our little reign will be over, and then all the mining in the world won't make a difference. This universe will be so much better when we are all extinct.

Somehow this reminds me why there was a fuss over the movie 'Avatar'....
"We're being portrait as the bad guy because our corporations ruin the earth"...
You're admitting you're ruining the earth, dumbass CEO's....
Now I say you can't mind the moon personally.
In the longrun the moon would be deformed or disappear completely !

Human beings are the biggest destroyers of all time. We hold the record on destroying our own home in lightening speed, now we are suffering the effects. Since the mans nature is to destroy, he has to look for something or somewhere else to destroy.

Well i think its a good ideas since it would open up a whole new supply of materials that would last us for MANY years. Plus, I dont think we would be ruining the moon. It's not like the moon has resources that support life and there really isn't anything on the moon that we could ruin.
It doesn't have oceans or anything, but this is basically a solution that would increase our resources significantly.
