At one time, I was very taken with the idea of compressed air cars,
. . . until I found out, they are NOT as efficient as electric cars.

Yep, another hair brained idea. One must look at end to end costs, pollution, etc. From what I've read, hydrogen and fuel cell cars are also a bust.

My money is on battery cars. Batteries are recyclable and electricity can be gotten from green sources. An all electric car is also more simple than a gas or hybrid car so when batteries have progressed far enough, elecrics will be cheaper than gas cars.

I think It's great that at least there are varying ideas that people come-up with. I mean, I would have never thought of something like this but at least someone came up with one idea that could work -- if only to at least take that idea and improve upon it.

They know what they want the concept to be even if its not perfect, and that's half the problem solved.

While it is an interesting idea, I wonder how safe it would be. If the compressed air tank isn't made correctly it could explode during the filling process. I really like how electric cars have been progressing, so I think they are the model most likely to succeed in the next 10 years.

Car manufacturers are now taking the initiative to go green on their cars. But it will take some time to perfect the technology. Another thing is that these new technologies are expensive and are still on the blink of perfection. They spent millions of dollars on the research and development and maybe in 5 to 10 years from now, they may come-up with a better solution of changing fuel run cars into a more greener one.

At least the company tried. Was it Thomas Edison who had the quote about finding 50 ways that didn't work? I think you get the idea. I really do hope they or another company can figure out the best type of engine or fuel to use.
