Smoking - I think is the best non-green habit that I had. I had tried to quit for the 4th time now but to no avail. The only consolation about it is that I had cut it from 1 pack to 2-4 sticks a day. It's a habit that I am not proud off and no thanks to my college peers where I get that bad habit.

Well said.
And we can become too judgemental when a "holier than thou" attitude takes over.

This. And the 'holier than thou' attitudes are what turn people off of wanting to listen to what you have to say. I know I for one, whenever I hear someone starting to preach to me about something, anything really I completely tune out. When you are passionate about a topic it's important to remember that when you are trying to teach someone to follow your ways it's important not to be judgement and act as if you are better than them.

Well, I’m gonna rat Hubby out here, LOL. But it’s not entirely his fault -- his employer expects him to do this stuff. Pays him for it occasionally, too.
But to Turner’s credit, he’s got the best mileage rate of the entire company! He really puts a lot of thought and effort into reducing that big rig’s output.
As soon as the weather turns decent, he’ll be mountain biking to and from work, and he can’t wait!

That page always makes this run through my head. Brian gets a kick out of it …

One of the worst things I do is leave everything plugged in, not necessarily on. I feel that if it is recylable, then recycle it. If not, try to switch to products that are. I refuse to be hard on myself simply because what is recylable in one area is not necessarily recylable in another. I just try to be aware of the environment and strive to find practises that are beneficial for it.

I think mine is definitely transportation- things like taking a taxi instead of the bus or subway. (We don't own a car, so I guess that is better than nothing.) I would like to get a bike this spring once the weather is nice again. I'm not keen on the idea of biking in below-zero temps, so that's not a winter option where I live.
I also think air travel is a big one, but I have no idea how to get around that one. There are specific trips we have to make via air and there aren't really any other options (it's tough to cross the Pacific any other way, really)- maybe buying carbon credits would be a good way to try and offset that one...
