Solar costs have halved in just 3 years,
. . . meaning solar has a fixed cost,
. . . which can now beat all conventional generation.
. . . (except for the very cheapest gas,
. . . which has to be imported, and
. . . is therefore, subject to price change)
Abu Dhabi, and Jordan’s, recent solar auctions,
. . . bid's were around USD$.06 per kilowatt-hour,
Egypt, struggling with a gas and power crisis, is up next,
. . . with a reported 6,500MW of solar deals.
Any country burning oil for power:
. . . . . . Saudi Arabia,
. . . . . . Kuwait,
. . . . . . Egypt,
. . . . . . Jordan,
. . . . . . Lebanon,
. . . . . . Iraq, and
. . . . . . Iran,
. . . should plan to replace this with solar, as much as possible.
